About Ulithi Biosecurity
Biosecurity is the practice of protecting places from the threats to wildlife posed by introducing new diseases or types of plants or animals that do not naturally occur there. Seabirds often choose to nest on islands with no land predators and are particularly vulnerable to introduction of predators. We are working hard to raise awareness of the threat of invasive predators and put in place systems to prevent their accidental introduction to islands.
Protecting Our Wildlife Habitats
Our Mission
At Ulithi Biosecurity, our mission is to safeguard wildlife habitats from the risks posed by invasive species. We strive to educate communities about the dangers of introducing predators and invasive species to vulnerable ecosystems, particularly islands where native species are at risk. Through our efforts, we aim to preserve the delicate balance of these ecosystems and protect the biodiversity of our natural world.
Our Vision
Our vision at Ulithi Biosecurity is to create a world where wildlife habitats are free from the threats of invasive species. We envision a future where ecosystems are in harmony, and native species can thrive without the fear of disruption caused by non-native species. Through collaboration with local communities, organizations, and government agencies, we aspire to establish sustainable biosecurity measures that ensure the long-term protection of our precious wildlife habitats.
